Change what's possible for thrombotic disease graphic

Cardiovascular and thromboembolic diseases are among the leading causes of death and disability, accounting for nearly 1 million deaths in the US annually. 1,2

THROMBOSIS IS A COMMON MANIFESTATION ACROSS DIFFERENT DISEASE STATES1:

  • Thromboembolism due to atrial fibrillation (AFib)
  • Venous thromboembolism
  • Cancer-associated thrombosis
  • Ischemic heart disease
  • Cerebrovascular disease, including stroke
40% of AFib patients are untreated or undertreated graphic
While direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) are effective at reducing the risk of recurrent thromboembolic events for patients with AFib, potential bleeding risk contributes to gaps in protection, which may leave patients vulnerable to an event.4
~25% of strokes are recurrent, many of which are preventable graphic
Patients who have experienced ischemic stroke, or a TIA, are at risk for a recurrent event.6

Could a different target change how management of thromboembolic events is approached?

aAccording to a cohort study of over 80,000 patients with a diagnosis of either AFib or atrial flutter. bBased on data from the US indicating approximately 795,000 individuals experience a stroke each year, of which approximately 185,000 are recurrent.5
